ACW wargames
are played extensively at the club using both in-house written rules and
Volley and Bayonet.
The in house
rules are done at the regimental stand level, whilst Volley and Bayonet
has been used to re-enact the 1st day at Gettysburg :-

In-house rules - The
in-house written rules are based at the regimental level and use a card-based
sequencing system to drive the game.
An

The
Union flank attack crest the hill as the Rebs rush reserves to meet the
threat.
Rebel
infantry resolutely defend a bridge despite some depressing dice rolling.
As
the Rebel centre collapses, Union columns plunge into the gap.
A
Rebel brigade defends a stone wall against all attacks.
